Whitetail North Interlake #1D -Availability for 2009

This outfitter offers a unique hunting experience.  All of their hunting is done in the deep wilderness in the Interlake Region of Manitoba.  Their camps are only accessible by ATVs and even then getting into the camp is extremely difficult.  There are no farmlands, no pastures, no agricultural activities or people, just you and the wilderness.  This is a small family ran operation and only takes 25 hunters per year.  They have 7 remote wilderness camps with each camp having a minimum of 36 square miles of prime hunting territory.  Each camp accommodates 4 hunters and consequently there is no need to open all of the camps every year.   They normally only open half of the camps each year and consequently there is virtually no hunting pressure on the animals.

This outfitter is a premium outfitter which consistently harvests trophy whitetails.  It has a proven record in that in each of the last eight years its combined success rate for rifle, muzzle and archery has never dropped below 72%.  These are animals actually harvested and not simply the opportunity to take an animal or wounding an animal.  Their camps are spread out across the north Interlake Region of Manitoba approximately 110 miles north of Winnipeg.  Due to the remoteness of the hunt the outfitter provides a full American plan operation in that the outfitter provides all accommodations, meals, scouting and treestand location.  All you need to bring are your clothes and weapon.  You should harvest a minimum of a 140 class (B & C) animal.  Last year the largest animal taken was a 184 1/8 B & C which dressed well in excess of 250 pounds.  This outfitter only takes hunters for 3 weeks in November as they are hunting the pre-rut and rut.  The hunts are conducted from treestands or ground blinds which are completely portable but yet comfortable.  All treestands have covers as well as heaters if necessary should the weather become inclement.  Your hunt includes pick up in Winnipeg and it is a 7 day hunt.  Half a day each way is consumed by travel into the camp and you will therefore be provided with 6 full days of hunting.  This camp has been written up in numerous magazine articles and has been visited by Cabala’s and Mossy Oak.  The hunt cost includes everything except the cost of the license from the Province of Manitoba which is estimated to be $270.00 USD.

Hunts are 6-days.

Whitetail Eastern Central 1B

This camp is situated in a boreal forest setting, a whitetail deer playground.  It consists of an assigned hunting area of 5000 sq. miles and is located 120 miles northeast of Winnipeg.  It's boundaries are Lake Winnipeg to the west and the Ontario boarder to the east, there is no access from the Ontario side - so this area remains virtually unhunted. 95% of the allotted area consists of government owned crown land which allows this outfitter full access to utilize the entire area. The area is forested, with many lakes, rivers and swamps. The hunts are conducted from semi remote to very remote areas. The terrain can be challenging at times and you will appreciate the knowledgeable and skilled guides that are in place to insure that you have a safe and successful hunt. All hunts are conducted during a 3 week period in the fall with 6 hunters per week during late October and early November - leading up to and during the peak of the rut.  The first week is dedicated to muzzleloader hunts only, with second and third weeks allowing for rifle or muzzleloader hunting. The guides employ several hunting methods from rattling to calling. Portable tree stands and ground blinds are utilized to provide the best options during the hunt. Heated stands are available if required. As this is extremely remote and rugged wilderness country, the whitetails have had no human contact and respond very favourable to rattling, calling and other tactics. The success of the hunt depends of a number of factors;  weather plays a significant role, hunters mental stamina, physical condition and shooting ability is a factor. Your hunt will be customized to suit your ability level. The deer population was well above average last fall and we have had normal winter conditions. The area has produced many trophy class whitetails over the years. The accommodations and meals are first class. The lodge is 6000 sq. ft., it has a commercial kitchen, large eating area, pool table , sauna, hot tub, washer and dryer.  The bedrooms are located upstairs with the bathrooms located across the hall. Single beds 2 per room.

Note: Your whitetail tag also allows your to harvest a gray wolf along with you deer (providing the wolf is shot prior to the deer - as per Manitoba DNR requirements).

Hunts are 5-day.

Hunt cost 2008: $3000? US (2:1), all inclusive.
